St. Teresa's students are challenged to maintain a standard of excellence in academics. For more than 140 years, St. Teresa's has offered a rigorous college preparatory curriculum in a disciplined environment. The Class of 2012 averaged 119 points higher than the national average in critical reading, writing and math SAT scores. The average composite ACT score for the Class of 2012 was 26; 40% scored a 28 or higher. The national average is 21.
Each year, St. Teresa's graduates receive merit-based scholarships to many prestigious colleges and universities. More than 80% of the Class of 2012 received merit-based scholarships, totaling more than $3 million. It is common for junior and senior students to be taking Advanced Placement and/or college credit courses. At St. Teresa's Academy, working hard, challenging each other and striving to be the best is the rule, not the exception.
