Arts Council of Johnson County Announces 2011 Shooting Stars Finalist
The Arts Council of Johnson County is pleased to announce 102 outstanding young visual, performing and literary artists from 25 local high schools have been nominated for a Shooting Stars Scholarship. One of the 2011 Finalists is St. Teresa’s Academy senior Elise Pavicic (work pictured below).
The Shooting Stars Recognition, Scholarship & Awards Program celebrates Johnson County high school seniors who have excelled in the arts. Nominated by their arts teacher in 1 of 9 categories, students audition or submit their portfolio before a panel of judges for scholarship consideration. All nominated students are honored and 18 scholarship recipients are announced at the Arts Council’s Annual Shooting Stars Gala on March 27, 2011.
For more information about the Shooting Stars Program or to make reservations for the Shooting Stars Gala, please contact the Arts Council of Johnson County at 913.894.2720 or email artsjoco@sbcglobal.net.
