Fall Sports Tryouts
Fall sports begin on Monday, Aug 9. To find out more information about tryouts and for team schedules, please visit the St. Teresa's athletics website. All incoming 9th graders and transfer students must turn in their MSHSAA health forms before being allowed to practice.

Booster Club Cook-Out

The STA Booster Club will be hosting a cookout for all current and prospective student-athletes and their families following practice on Thursday, August 19. Please come join the company of the athletes, coaches and parents as we prepare to continue the proud tradition of STA Athletics in 2010-11.

Fall Sports Rules Night
RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY, AUGUST 19
7-8 p.m.
The fall sports Rules Meetings have been rescheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Aug. 19 and will begin following the cook-out. Rules Meetings are required for all fall athletes their parents to attend.

The St. Teresa’s Academy Booster Club hosted an informal BBQ on May 12th at 5:30 p.m. in the STA Quad.

STA Debate and Speech Teams Excel in Final Tournaments
The STA debate team ended a very successful year at the debate tournament held on April 13th at St. Pius.  The speech team took top honors at the Woodmen Speech Contest held at STA on April 15th.

Successful Grandmothers' Tea Event
Fun was had by all at the 32nd annual Grandmothers' Tea, held April 23, 2010. Over 600 students and grandmothers shared in the festivities.

STA Math Team Wins Regional Championship
The STA Math Team has won the regional championship award in the Missouri Math League Competition. Forty-two Missouri schools competed this year with STA winning second place over-all in state.

First Annual Trivia Night at STA

STA Teacher Receives National Recognition
STA instructor, Kelly Fast, has been selected as an NEH Summer Scholar from a national applicant pool to attend one of 30 summer study opportunities supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

STA's online news site won The Pacemaker award during a convention Saturday in Portland, Oregon. This is the highest publication honor ever for St. Teresa’s Academy students.

STA Senior Wins First Place Art Scholarship
STA's Rachel Knox won the 2010 Shooting Stars Scholarship Award in the category of Two-Dimensional Art at the Shooting Stars Gala on March 28th.

Senior Celeste Bremen received a perfect 2400 on her SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) taken this past June.  Less than .0002% of test takers accomplish such a feat.

The Bishop Helmsing Institute is offering year-long Adult Faith Formation courses assisting with adult Catholic education.

STA Sophomore on Championship Volleyball Team
Sophomore Taylor Migliazzo's league volleyball team, Kansas City Power, became the 2009 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic 16 Open National Champion in a tournament held in Miami, FL, in late June.

STA Theatre Students Nominated for Blue Star Awards
St. Teresa's received three 2009 Blue Star Award nominations. The annual Blue Star program is designed to recognize outstanding achievement in musical theatre among area high school students.

Decade Happy Hour
Decade Happy Hour, held June 4th, was a huge success with almost all classes represented from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Two hundred women enjoyed reconnecting with classmates from all the different eras.

STA Theatre Students to Perform in Scotland
The St. Teresa's Academy Theatre Department, under the direction of Shana Prentiss, has been selected to perform in the world’s largest and most prestigious arts festival in the world as part of the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF).

Blue Star Theatre Nominations
St. Teresa's Academy is proud to participate in the Blue Star Awards sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Starlight Theatre. Blue Star recognizes the work of high school musical theatre programs throughout the greater Kansas City Area.

The 22nd Annual Amy Thompson Run to Daylight, a benefit for the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City, honors an STA alumna who promoted all the great values of her Alma Mater through her actions.

Emily Strickland’s cooking isn’t typical teen cuisine. A sophomore at STA, 16-year-old Emily is at home in the kitchen and develops dinners that emphasize creative culinary combinations.

Teresian yearbook 2007-08 wins prestigious award.
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association has awarded the 2007-08 Teresian the distinction of being one of the top 28 yearbooks judged in its annual nationwide contest, the only yearbook in the state of Missouri to win the honor.
