2010 FALL SPORTS TRYOUT INFORMATION
St. Teresa's Academy sponsors six fall sports, three winter sports and three spring sports. Fall tryouts/practices begin the week of August 9, 2010. If you want to try out for a fall sports team, you must attend according to the schedule below. If you have a conflict, you must contact the Head Coach ahead of time to see if alternate arrangements can be made.
Each student-athlete must have an annual MSHSAA Athletic Physical/Insurance Information/Parent Consent Form on file or in hand the first day of tryouts. Blank physical forms were provided at Freshman Registration. These forms are always available in the School Office, Athletic Office, and on the athletics website. Student-athletes must have an annual physical completed to be eligible to tryout and participate in athletics as mandated by the MSHSAA.

Tryouts/practice for varsity and junior varsity will begin Monday, August 9, at the Blue River Golf Academy, Blue River Golf Course in Swope Park. Monday and Tuesday times are 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., but times and locations may vary during the week due to course availability. Tryouts will be conducted Monday-Thursday, and golfers must attend each day of tryouts to be eligible for the team. Student-athletes need to bring golf clubs and golf balls beginning the first day of practice, and should be expected to break 55 strokes in nine holes to be considered for the varsity team.

Congratulations to the STA Stars golf team for winning the 4th place team trophy at the state championships. Senior Casey O'Flaherty finished tied for second place individually, earning all-state honors! In addition to the team trophy that will be displayed in the gym lobby, the team will have a banner raised in the gym for their accomplishment!
STA Golfers Finish 2nd at Districts, Team Qualifies for StateThe St. Teresa's Academy golf team finished second place at districts with a team score of 333, breaking the previous school record by 12 strokes. Under extremely windy and chilly conditions, the team was just 2 strokes off of first place, while all five golfers qualified for the state tournament on Oct. 19-20. This is an outstanding accomplishment for these girls, and they have proven themselves to be real contenders for a state championship on Oct. 19-20.Individual District Results: Casey – 83, Nina – 83, Colleen – 84, Madalyne – 85, Alex – 90The St. Teresa's golf team set a school record at the Richmond Tournament with a team score of 345, breaking the old school record by 9 strokes. The Stars finished in second place out of 18 teams, with senior Casey O'Flaherty finishing in third place individually. (Casey 80, Madalyne 87, Nina 84, Alex 94, Holly 96).

STA's Golf Coaching Staff:
Last season's Assistant Coach, Teresa Borchert, will serve as STA's new Head Golf Coach for 2009. Coach Borchert is an STA alum who played collegiate-level golf at UMKC. Coach Borchert has been meeting with golfers already, helping them select summer play opportunities and skills improvemnt opportunities.
