2009 SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS - Summer 2010 programs will be posted beginning in Jan. 2010.
STA has received information on the following summer enrichment programs. Enrichment programs vary in content, length, deadlines, cost, dates, etc. If there is a particular college of interest to you, check out their website or ask an admission officer what may be available on campus this summer. This page will be updated frequently.
“During the summer 2007 I spent 5 days at Indiana University’s Annual High School Journalism Institute and completed a photojournalism course. I loved my classes, the people, and the college experience. Going to Indiana was a great way to expose myself to not only my love of photography, but to a college campus and town. I recommend to anyone interested in a specific subject or field of work to take a chance and see if a college offers a summer program, it’s worth it!”
Jaime Henry-White, Class of 2009
“My summer program was the MU Mini Med School. I would have to say what I gained most from this particular program was a feel for the medical field. From my experiences working with cadavers in the anatomy lab to touring the NICU, I was able to better understand medicine through a hands-on approach. I would not have realized the many areas of science introduced that week, nor made several connections with physicians and faculty at Mizzou’s Medical School without the aid of this program.”
Kate Bohnert, Class of 2009
“Attending the UMKC Pathways to Nursing was very beneficial and it was a true experiential learning program. It helped redefine my goals and values, and provided other opportunities for me to involve myself in my career interest. The program gave me a jump start on the college process.”
